St. Andrew Bay is home to one of the world’s largest resident populations of bottlenose dolphins, the iconic gray dolphins that most people are familiar with from television, movies, and marine parks. The dolphins of St. Andrew Bay are wild animals but they are accustomed to the presence of people and it is common for boaters on the Bay to find themselves among a group of swimming, feeding, and playing dolphins.

The Gulf of Mexico is home to marine mammals such as dolphins, whales, and one species of sirenian, the West Indian Manatee (Trichechusmanatus). No sea lions (fur seals), seals, or seagoing otters are found in the Gulf of Mexico as they are elsewhere.

We have been twice to shell Island Beach. You can park in the shell island beach by paying PS7.50. The second time you drive a little further up the coast to Llanddwywe where there is a public car parking. The beach itself is vast and very beautiful.
